The Economic Development Council (EDC) was incorporated in 1986. Our mission statement is to: Recruit new industry and help existing industry expand. It’s a simple message that means job growth and investment for our community and increased profitability for our local companies.

Our Board of Directors are motivated leaders who believe in this program and what it means to our community.  We are ideally located on Interstate 24 less than one hour from Nashville TN and are part of a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) of over 270,000 with Clarksville TN. We’re an easy 4 hour drive to Atlanta GA, Memphis TN, Lexington KY, or St. Louis MO.

• Outstanding Sites – Hundreds of developed acres are available now! 
• Outstanding Infrastructure – There is sufficient quantities of reliable utilities such as 
  water, sewer, electric, natural gas, broadband and rail.
• Proximity to Nashville International Airport – Being an easy 1 hour drive to the airport make getting anywhere in the world easier.
• Quality Regional Workforce – Hopkinsville-Christian County is the job center for the 5 contiguous Kentucky counties and the 3 contiguous Tennessee counties.
• Workforce Training – The Hopkinsville Community College is an important part of our community and their 60,000 square foot technology training center is the jewel of their campus.

Twenty five percent of the people employed in Christian County work in manufacturing. While we believe that high skilled manufacturing jobs provide excellent wages and opportunities for future growth, our community is well served with jobs in agriculture, distribution, the Fort Campbell military installation.
